Trish McDermott invented online dating.  Not entirely on her own, but as an original member of the 1995 Match.com startup team Trish helped develop Match's first matching algorithm and first dating profile format.  As Match’s resident dating expert, advice columnist, global spokesperson, on-air talent and “Vice President of Romance” for ten years, Trish coached millions of singles around the world to date smarter and keep on keeping on, despite the personal and romantic setbacks that make us human.  By observing and analyzing the dating practices of millions of singles,  Trish  learned a thing or two about the attitudes, approaches and behaviors that lead to dating success—not to mention how to write an extraordinary online dating profile! 

Trish’s Encore Dating Coaching Program takes recently separated or divorced clients through a step-by-step process to get them in the right mindset to be ready to date again.  Trish then coaches clients on finding the right date through  dating apps, online dating services, Meetups, speed dating and other opportunities for finding their one special someone.  

Trish knows dating.  She is commonly quoted in the press as one of the world’s foremost experts on dating, romance, social  romantic etiquette and the role technology plays in our romantic lives.

  • Dating skills a bit rusty?  Meet for a practice lunch date to brush up on your flirting and romantic conversational skills. "Dates" are taped and you'll receive the tape and a written report with suggestions  for polishing your first-date performance.
  • Practice First Date package also includes two post-date half hour coaching sessions.
